National School Sanitation Award -2012

 

The CBSE in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoHRD), Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) and GIZ (formerly known as GTZ) introduced the `National School Sanitation Initiative’ with the aim  to inculcate good sanitation habits among school students. It has been decided by the Ministry of

Human Resource Development, Government of India to institute National School Sanitation Awards on annual basis. 

CBSE decided to award the best 100 schools on the basis of their sanitation ratings obtained through Online National School Sanitation Ratings vide the website www.schoolsanitation.com.

We are privileged to announce that Udgam is one of the schools to win the award in its inaugural year.  This award is conferred upon Udgam for its maintenance of cleanliness on its premises  while giving equal importance to health, hygiene and education of students. This award proves that we are a clean and green school with the wholesome environment needed for the overall development of a child. 

The award, which includes a trophy and prize money of Rs. 15,000/-,  was received by the Executive Director of the school, Mr. Manan Choksi, on 28th Nov. 2012 at Delhi.

Arya Thakkar’s Achievement

 

Young Swimmer

Arya Thakkar of class II-A participated in swimming competition organized by Inter Club Aquatic Meet 2012 and bagged 2nd position in both events of One length Butterfly and One length Back Stroke in the age group of 5-8 years. She received Silver Medals and Certificates for her outstanding performance.

Kavya  Mehta of class 5-B participated in swimming championship held at Ellisbridge Gymkhana and secured third position in Two Length Breast Stroke event. She was awarded with a certificate and a bronze medal.

Ishika Choksi of class 4 D participated in drawing competition organized by Rajpath Club and stood third in it. She was awarded with a trophy and a certificate for her beautiful drawing.

Also to mention here is Ishika Choksi is the only child to be selected for taking part in State Level Painting competition organized by Ministry of Power, Government of India. In the month of September in the school level competition she stood first and her drawing was sent to ministry, where she got selected and appeared for the State level on 9th November,2012. She was awarded with a certificate for her excellent drawing. 

Krish Choksi’s Achievement

 

Rising Sports Person

Krish Choksi of class III-D participated in Swimming and Badminton championship and won trophies and medals for following achievements:

1.     A trophy for group championship in swimming.

2.     First position and a  gold medal in Backstroke swimming.

3.     First position and a gold medal in Breaststroke swimming.

4.     Second position and a  silver medal for Butterfly stroke swimming.

5.     A trophy for being on the runners up position in Badminton tournament 2012 under 8 boys (Sinlges)
