In 1965, when Mrs Sarojben Carvalho set out to open a school in a small building, only a handful of students trusted her vision. In a young nation, barely standing on its own, the institution of formal education was not considered to be important. Nevertheless, with Sarojben’s rigour, fortitude, and years of toil, the number of students and classes increased gradually. Even back then, the school was synonymous with quality education.
With continuous excellence came a time when the small building from 1965 was not enough to hold the promising weight of the future, and the school had to move to a larger campus in Thaltej. Consequently, in 1991, the Kantilal Jaikishandas Charitable Trust took over the school. And later, Udgam School – an English medium school in Ahmedabad – became affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Udgam is amongst the top schools in bringing international education to Ahmedabad. Being an IB international school, we also offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme [IBCP] for grade XI & XII – a programme that has been accorded equivalence and recognition as a Grade 12 qualification by the Association of Indian Universities. IBCP provides pathways to higher education in institutions in India and around the globe.
Udgam School, with its core in academics and profound commitment to co-curricular activities and sports, continued to excel, and today, we are one of the oldest and top CBSE schools in Ahmedabad.

Udgam School is located in the densely populated area of Thaltej.
