Udgam Run, The Family Marathon

Udgam Run, The Family Marathon, is a celebration of community, health, and education, in line with Udgam School’s commitment to holistic development. As we weave through the vibrant streets of Ahmedabad, we are marking Udgam’s 59th Foundation Day and contributing to its legacy of empowering minds. This initiative aims to emphasize the important link between physical activity and mental development, promoting the idea that taking care of our bodies is essential for nurturing our minds and enriching our community spirit.

This run is designed for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a jogging toddler, a sprinting teenager, or a walking grandparent, there’s a place for you on the race track. Our route is safe, and scenic ensuring an enjoyable experience for every family member.

We hope this event serves as a beacon of inspiration for families to embrace a lifestyle where physical activity is a key component of mental and emotional well-being.

Race Schedule

  • Only people with registration BIB will be allowed entry into the holding area.
  • Parking will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space. We request runners to consider carpooling to avoid parking issues at the venue.
  • Runners are advised not to carry bags or valuable items.
  • Medical facilities / Recovery zone will be made available at the race venue.
  • Washroom facilities at the race venue and along the route at various points.
  • Adequate water stations will be available along the route.
  • Reporting time for 10km participants is 5:45 am.
  • Flag off for 10km is at 6:30 am.
  • Reporting time for 5 km participants is 5:45 am.
  • Flag off for 5 km is at 6:45 am.
  • Reporting time for 3 km Run participants is 6:00 am.
  • Flag off for 3 km Run is at 7:00 am.

  • For 10km: Registration fee includes Goodie bag, Event T-Shirt, Bib with RFID chip, Hydration on route and venue, Medical Aid, Post Event Refreshment, and Finisher medal to honour the effort: Finisher E- E-certificate (To be downloaded from our website). Students from Participating schools will get a Certificate from the school.
  • For the 5km Run: Registration fee includes a goodie bag, Event T-shirt, Bib with RFID, Hydration on route and venue, Medical Aid, Post Event Refreshments, and Finisher E Certificate (To be downloaded from our website). Students from Participating schools will get a Medal and Certificate from the school.
  • For the 3-km run: Registration fee includes a Goodie bag, event T-shirt, bib, hydration on route and venue, medical aid, and post-event refreshments.


Race Rules & Regulations

  • Runners found to have interchanged their running number bib and/or timing bib tag with another individual, will be disqualified from the event.
  • Participants of the 10km Run or 5 km Run must start their run at the respective start times of the race categories they have been confirmed in. Failure to do so will result in no result or no certificate being given.
  • Please note if you don’t wear your timing bib tag as instructed, you won’t be able to get an official finish time and thereby the official Certificate recording your finish times. No bib tag – No Timing.
  • No vehicles are allowed on the course. Anyone bringing wheeled vehicles will be disqualified from the race; you will be asked to leave the course. There will be specific finish cut-off timings (10 km Run – 2:00 Hours & 5km Run-1:00 hour).
  • Runners failing to finish their race/run within such timings must stick to the footpath in order to complete your race; the route will open for normal vehicular traffic post the time intimated.
  • Only those confirmed participants wearing the January 2024 running number bibs will be allowed on the route. Any person found wearing the incorrect bib or no bib will be disqualified and removed by the course security.
  • Further, every runner must wear his/her running number bib on the front of the vest worn. Any mutilation, fold, alteration, or damage to the bib will amount to disqualification of the runner from the event.
  • Runner must fill in the complete details on the back of the bib number.
  • Organizers reserve the right to stop any participant from participating who is found medically unfit to continue in the opinion of the medical personnel.
  • Baggage counters are available for all participants. It is strongly recommended that you do not leave valuables like mobile phone, camera, jewelry, watch, electronic gadgets, etc. in the bag stored. Organizers are not responsible for any loss of baggage and/or its belongings.
  • Participants are requested to cooperate with the police and security personnel deputed at the event venue and on route. Participants/supporters are liable to random checking on race day– this is for your own security.
  • Entry Cancellation: Requests for cancellation& transfer will not be accepted and thereby, refund will not be entertained.


Race Kit Pick up

The applicant must pick up their pre-race packet and show photo-identity proof (of the confirmed participant), e.g., an Aadhaar card, Passport, PAN card, Election card or Driving license. Entry Cancellation: Requests for cancellation and refunds will not be entertained. Details on the bib collection will be posted on the event website (www.halfmarathonamdavad.com &www.lssports.in) later and emailed to all registered/confirmed participants. The right to participate in the event and the rights and benefits available to the applicant under this application form are at the sole discretion of the Udgam Run-The Family Marathon organizing team. It cannot be transferred to any other person under any circumstances, and the applicant alone shall be entitled to the rights and benefits arising hereunder.

Confirmation: Every participant/group will receive an email confirmation once registration fees have been received.


FOR COLLECTING PRIZE AWARD

It is compulsory to have a PAN card at the time of collecting prizes from office of LS Sports Management Pvt. Ltd. In case of minor not having PAN Card, TDS deduction will be in accordance with existing rules of government. Awards will be given within 1 month of the completion of the event provided all formalities & proofs are submitted by winning participants.

Prize money/Awards

Prizes will be for Participating school students only. The following conditions must be met for eligibility to win the prize:

  1. The school should be participating in the event.
  2. The student should use the “Student” category at the time of registration and only 5 km and 10 km categories will be considered.
  3. The appropriate school, shift, class, division, student ID should be mentioned.
  4. Class / Division wise – Fastest Runner Certificates will be given. For example, the fastest runners in 6th A and 6th B would be given certificates of “Fastest in Class.”
  5. For all participating schools – the Fastest Runner in all divisions of each class will be given the “Fastest of all Classes” cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-

Will there be any medical assistance throughout the event?

Ambulance and First Aid kits will be available at Hydration station.

If you have to bring baggage, we have a counter where you can store it. However, please note that the baggage will be your responsibility.

Medal is for 10km run and E-Certificate is for 10km & 5 km run (to be downloaded from our website)

No, it is not recommended for safety reasons.

There may be traffic on roads so please run with caution and for your own safety, volunteers would be there to support you.
