‘UDGAM’ formula to become a better version of yourself

UDGAM is more than just my school’s name, it’s a philosophy that can help one become a better person. In Sanskrit, UDGAM means “to rise” and that’s exactly what this formula can help you do. By following the UDGAM formula, you can create a roadmap for your own growth that will help you achieve your goals and become the best version of yourself.

The first step in the UDGAM formula is to Understand Yourself. It’s important to take the time for self-reflection, recognize what your values are, what drives you and what are your weaknesses. When you have a better self-awareness, you can make better decisions about what changes you want to make and why. The best way is to do a personal SWOT Analysis (Play to your Strengths- Work on your Weaknesses- Tap into new opportunities- Be wary of Threats)

The next step is to Define your goals. Set clear, specific, and measurable goals that align with your ambitions. Break them down into smaller, achievable sub-goals to help you stay motivated and focused on what you want to achieve and stay committed to your personal growth journey.

Once you’ve defined your goals, it’s time to Get out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try new things, things which give you a feeling of unsettlement or fear (such as Public Speaking), learn from your mistakes and practice consistently to get better. This will help you grow and develop new skills and perspectives. Reward yourself upon achieving smaller/stretched goals.

Adopting Positive habits is the next step in this formula. Identify habits that are holding you back and replace them with positive ones. This could include practicing gratitude, reading books, exercising regularly, or developing a daily meditation or mindfulness practice. Create a daily routine to inculcate new habits. These positive habits will help you stay motivated and on track with your personal growth goals.

Finally, it’s important to Maintain a Growth Mindset. Embrace the idea that you can continuously improve (Get better by 1% everyday & by the end of the year you will be 365% better than what you were at the start of the year). Cultivate a mindset of curiosity and openness to feedback (both positive & constructive). By maintaining a growth mindset, you’ll be more receptive to learning and more willing to take on new challenges.

In conclusion, the UDGAM formula is a powerful tool for self-improvement. While we can talk about many more steps, these 5 steps are starting points to bring you on board the journey of becoming a better version of yourself. It is also important to always stay connected to your roots and embrace the idea of continuous learning and growth no matter what stage of life and career you are in. By doing so, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals and realizing your full potential.
