Primary Section Students Enjoying a Plethora of Diwali Activities Diwali celebration began well in advance for our primary section students through various Diwali-centric activities. Students of class 3 enjoyed painting Diya in school, class 4 students made paper lantern and decorated them beautifully and class 5 students made rangolis on paper plates. It was sheer joy to see each and every child glowing with enthusiasm as they carried out their respective activities in their classroom. Diwali goes beyond sweets, savouries and crackers- the trues essence of this Indian festival- ‘light over darkness’ was beautifully conveyed through such diverse activities in school.

Put your phone down- An Assembly for Grade 3 As mobile phones have invaded into our lives , so to generate awareness about the boons and banes of mobile phones, an assembly was organized for class 3. Students of 3D and E , through their performances highlighted how we should limit our phone usage. The assembly began with a melodious song ‘All things Bright and Beautiful’. In the skit, students compared life before and after mobile phones. A group of students recited a sweet poem ‘ Please look at me, not at your phone’ requesting parents to attend to them and not stay engrossed into their phone. Before the assembly concluded, class teacher informed the students about the ill -effects of over usage of mobile phone and explained to them why they shouldn’t use mobile phones too much.

Rangoli Competition for Students of 6, 7 and 8 Rangolis with their spiritual and religious significance synergise the spirit of Diwali. Before the vacation started, an interclass Rangoli competition was organized for the students of middle section. This activity was an example of collaborative learning in which our teachers gave ideas and inspired the students to work in groups and foster team spirit. Each Rangoli was unique in its own way and the judges were in a dilemma to choose the ones that were better than the best . Some rangoli designs depicted socio cultural issues while some were simply aesthetic. The school campus was brimming with festive cheer from students and teachers. Such a beautiful way to welcome one of the most popular festivals of India- Diwali!

Performance by Students of IX E In the class IX assembly held on 21st October, students of IX E performed a western style dance. They also presented a dance drama on the theme ‘ save girl child’. Through their splendid performance they showcased the various forms of struggle that a girl may have to endure right from her birth. Our students also spoke on the importance of loving ourselves and appreciating others. Audience was motivated by the videos of the celebrities who talked about the significance of self -love. In the assembly, it was also demonstrated how education has evolved over the years, drawing a comparison between pre and post-Independence era. Alongwith these performances, students also held a round table discussion on diverse topics such as women empowerment, Navratri, Mahatma Gandhi, mental disorder, climate crisis etc. to create the necessary awareness.

‘Storytelling is the oldest form of education and is as much relevant in today’s times’.
Our little scholars of class 1 turned into storytellers last week and narrated stories of various genre. Some students used relevant props, while other engaged the listeners with appropriate gesticulation.
All the students got the chance to tell their stories and had lots of fun in the process!

Our students of class 6 enjoyed an exciting trip to Swapna Shrushti Adventure Park, which is the ultimate destination for thrill. Students followed all the rules while playing board games there or when taking part in the various adventure activities. They also had fun playing sports like basketball and volleyball and ziplining too. It was a different experience for them to maneuver their way through the labyrinth at Amarnath temple. In a nutshell, it was a fantastic day for our 6th graders that was filled with fun and frolic and lots of good food that made their good mood.

A Day Picnic to Shanti Suman Resort [ class 3] Students of class 3 were taken to Shanti Suman Resort on 14th October and 16th October for a day picnic. The day filled with excitement for the students began at 9 a.m with yummy snacks in the bus. After the little ones reached the venue and finished their breakfast, they were engrossed in various group activities and games such as camel ride, bouncy jumpers, tug of war, trampoline etc. They also got enough time for free play.Post a grand luncheon, there was more awaiting the children! Magic show, movie time and grooving with the DJ made their picnic even more memorable. Finally, it was time for the little picnickers return to school munching on wafers and sipping their fruit drink.

An Act on Bullying by Class 7 students of BSA Knowingly or unknowingly children often become bullies or victims of bullying. To bring to surface the causes and effects of this ill-practice , our class 7 students who have chosen drama and theatrics in their Before School Activity, presented an eye-opening act on ‘Bullying’. The audience included all the students of class 7, teachers, Vice principal and supervisor of middle section and our principal, Ms. Sujata Tandon – who highly appreciated the show. Principal in her concluding speech motivated and encouraged young learners to say no to bullying!

Class X Assembly In the recent assembly of class X, students of class X E highlighted the importance of cultural preservation through their various performance. Significance of Navratri was beautifully put forward and also the role play on Meera’s soulful life and dedication to Lord Krishna. The music performance earned huge rounds of applause, especially the way our 5 young guitarists exhibited their extraordinary talent. The customary food for soul segment of class X assembly revolved around Gandhiji’s input in education. Before the assembly concluded, winners of poets come alive recited their heart winning poems that touched the hearts and minds of the listeners.

Class II Assembly Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji , a special assembly was organized for students of class II. Commemorating his contribution towards India’s independence movement and his philosophies of life, students performed a small musical skit and also portrayed the simple life that he led and as the pioneer of non-violence. The assembly successfully evoked patriotic feelings in the audience ,especially, when they paid tribute to the priceless work of our soldiers for our safety and security. The assembly concluded with a great dance performance on the song ‘Kesari’.
